Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status

Teaching & Learning

What you'll learn

Develop your professional values and consider your educational practice throughout your teacher training journey. You'll also consider and reflect upon your developing teacher identity. This module will be divided into three teaching strands: teaching and learning activities, seminars and lectures, school practice lectures, and intensive Training and Practice (ITAP) days.
Explore and build your subject knowledge and pedagogy in all National Curriculum (NC) subjects. You'll cover Core and Foundation Key Stages 1 and 2 if you're studying the 5-11 pathways or the 5-11 PE pathway. If you're studying the 3-7 pathway, you'll cover National Curriculum (NC) subjects both Core and Foundation in Key Stages 1 and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). You'll develop subject knowledge relevant to the educational context of the pathway you're studying. This module will encourage you to use experience and reflection to enhance your teaching methods (pedagogy) and understanding.
This module will enable you to develop a deeper understanding of what it is to be an LBU student teacher. You'll put your subject knowledge and pedagogy into practice. To be recommended for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by the end of Primary School Experience 2, you'll need to meet all the Teachers Standards and/or any Department for Education (DfE) regulations and compliances that apply by the end of your placement. By the end of this module you'll be able to meet the DfEs Teachers’ Standards (2012) for Teachers: Part 1 Standards 1-8 inclusive and Part 2.
