Teaching & Learning

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic we are currently unable to advise on the mode of teaching for September 2021, however we will keep you updated and provide more information as soon as we can. We continue to follow government guidance and your teaching and learning will reflect the restrictions in place at the time of delivery. We currently anticipate that you may experience a blended approach – this is a mix of face-to-face, on campus and online teaching and learning. You can keep up to date with teaching and learning at Leeds Beckett via our Covid-19 website. Updated course specifications will be available in August 2021. In the meantime, our existing course specifications are available.

What you'll learn

Through the exploration of art, design and architecture research methods, you will discover a wide range of practice-based and theoretical and research methods from current thinking to historic approaches.
You will produce a dissertation relevant to your chosen area of specialist study in fashion or graphic design. You may choose a formal theoretical dissertation, or a tutor negotiated critical study directly related to your specialism.
Explore a range of research methods for your chosen specialist practice in fashion design, visual communication for fashion, or fashion writing. You will then develop your research through the production of a proposal for the Independent Study 2 module.
Working in conjunction with your project proposal from Independent Study 1, you will develop the theoretical and practice-based research appropriate to your specialist study to produce final solutions in fashion design, visual communication for fashion, or fashion writing.
