Distance learning
We understand that full-time study does not suit everyone. That’s why we offer courses which give you the opportunity to decide where, when and how you can get involved in learning. Studying a distance learning course offers the convenience and flexibility to make education work for you. Whether you’d like to fit your studies around childcare, develop your skills while working or, quite simply, want to learn from the comfort of your own home, we can help you gain a qualification at a time and pace that suits your lifestyle.
Like our students on campus, you’ll have the same excellent teaching and learning resources, however you’ll find these online instead of a lecture theatre. Not only are all the modules taught online, but you’ll also have access to an online community and more than 140,000 books and journals in our online library.
Technical requirements for distance learning study are detailed in the full guide. Visit our distance learning website for more information.
Our remote learning platform will deliver both guided and interactive learning opportunities. Most of your course content will be available on demand, and you’ll have access to some live sessions to support learning and peer connections. You’ll use our reading lists and resources to support your self-guided learning. This direction will help you to complete your assessment tasks. Your learning hours for each module will require approximately 200 hours over 12 weeks each, plus time to complete assessments.
Choosing full-time or part-time study
Studying this course is a significant undertaking in terms of the commitment and time requirement. If you choose to study full-time, you’ll take three modules per semester, each made up of 10-12 self-guided learning units. If you’re already working a full-time job, this study option isn’t recommended. However, the opportunity to study part-time will enable you to dedicate the necessary time to studying alongside other commitments.
