Teaching & Learning

What you'll learn

Analyse how organisations respond to rapidly changing markets, and unknown or changing product requirements. You will examine how the philosophy of lean product development can increase agility and better use of resources.
Evaluate how modelling and simulation of industrial systems can increase productivity and reduce response time to market demands.
During this module you will reflect critically on your own development and gain an enhanced understanding of the methods and skills required to carry out masters level research successfully.
You will study real time control issues using the latest PLC controls and emulation software. You will conduct remote monitoring using Web enabled software and wireless connectivity.
This module covers environmental issues such as recyclable material selection, design for minimum power used in process, minimum material required (FEA), design for manufacture and assembly.
Develop the skills to plan, initiate, execute, manage and sign off a project. You'll focus on appropriate methodologies, standards, legislation and the nine core knowledge areas associated with project management.
Engage in research or advanced scholarship in a subject area that is of particular interest to you.
