This course will enable you to develop expertise within health and community care practice, and to respond appropriately to local, national and political factors. With a focus on your own work role and service setting, you will gain the ability to take personal responsibility, initiative and make effective decisions in an unpredictable environment.

Gain an introduction to research. You will be guided through the research process as you explore specific methodologies, so that you can learn to select and justify your own research strategies.

Develop autonomy in your professional and academic development in a specific area of practice that you have identified.
Develop autonomy in your professional and academic development in a specific area of practice that you have identified.
Increase your knowledge and skills in the prevention and control of infection in healthcare - in particular focus on exploring best practice in order to evaluate and improve current practice.
Explore the key ethical and legal theory, principles and concepts that underpin health and social care practice.
As a registered health professional, this module will enable you to achieve the required legal and professional standards to register as a Non-Medical Prescriber.
Increase your knowledge and skills in the recognition and management of the acutely ill patient, with a particular focus on patient assessment, clinical skills, decision making and treatment planning, to prevent patient deterioration and improve outcome through early intervention.
This module will allow you to articulate the rationale, pace and expectations of transforming health and social care practice through critically discussing governmental public policy, its effect upon health and social care organisational development and the realities of professional practice.
