What you'll learn

Develop academic English language competence in the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing to prepare for undergraduate study.
Develop the appropriate mathematical skills, knowledge and understanding to progress onto a wide range of undergraduate courses. You will focus on real world problem solving and understand the language and methods of maths used in a UK Higher Education setting.
Enhance the four language skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking with a focus on research for an independent study related to your degree subject choice. You will learn to read critically and summarise, paraphrase, synthesise and reference when writing texts for academic purposes.

Option modules may include

Develop awareness of basic art and design practices in relation to the subject areas of art, architecture and design; enabling you to explore elements of each of the above subject groupings as well as identifying and learning key terminology pertinent to the fields of art, architecture and design. This option is not available if you start the course in January.
Develop awareness and understanding of the principles of Business and Management and the role of the Business Environment; identifying key vocabulary and terminology and enabling you to explore the diversity of business. This option is not available if you start the course in January.
