The award will focus on the creation of an implementation plan which will guide the whole school community through a process of building the skills and knowledge needed to bring about whole school improvements in coaching, mentoring and professional learning.

The award covers four key competencies:

  • Building capacity in the work of educators and leaders to create contexts which support inclusive career-long and professional-wide learning
  • Working to break down barriers to professional development through positive engagement with the education sector and allied practitioners
  • Increasing the opportunities for educational change through enhanced professional agency and wellbeing

  • Your staff will feel valued and have a sense of belonging, through the creation of a supportive and developmental culture
  • Your organisation will have developed a robust coaching and mentoring system
  • Staff will gain more opportunities to become part of more resilient teams
  • You will be using evidence-based approaches that align to professional guidelines

The award process allows schools to make coaching, mentoring and professional learning a guided strategic priority for school development. The school will develop an implementation plan and guide the school community through a process of building the skills and knowledge needed to bring about whole school improvements in coaching, mentoring and professional learning. Your school will work with an allocated online coach to create a personalised action plan for your school. Together, you will develop a portfolio of evidence for your school set against the competencies of the framework. Once submitted, your evidence will be verified against the three levels: bronze, silver and gold. As well as being recognised as a leader in coaching, mentoring & professional learning you will have the opportunity to showcase your practice with other schools, engaging in research and support the building of a professional community.

Your school will receive:

  • A self-assessment diagnostic
  • An allocated online coach who will support the school through the
    process
  • A paper and e-certificate
  • An e logo to display on your website and school stationery

The award costs £495 excluding VAT and lasts for three years, after which you can apply for reassessment to maintain your level or strive for higher quality standards.

This award recognises powerful professional learning and builds the capacity of teachers and leaders to increase the positive impacts of education through the enhanced professional agency and wellbeing of educators.
