PR lecturer to Judge International Shipping Journalism Awards
The annual event showcases the best campaigning journalism in the world’s shipping and logistics industry from North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Oceania.
Robert, a Senior Lecturer within Leeds Business School, spent 37 years in the shipping industry latterly as Global Media Relations Manager of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL), which delivers innovative and sustainable global shipping and logistics solutions for manufacturers of cars, trucks, heavy equipment and specialised cargo.
He began his public relations career as a press officer for European Ferris Group (now P&O). At WWL his work included the global press launch of the world’s first concept green ship, ES Orcelle. WWL gained the prestigious Thor Heyerdahl International Maritime Environmental Award from King Harald V of Norway for its environmental initiatives and Robert Minton-Taylor won a gold award for the campaign from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
The Seahorse Club award winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Tuesday 6 December.
