Online Learning Tutor

Alina works on the Distance Learning PGCE Course at the Carnegie School of Education. She provides advice and guidance on the design and delivery of the teaching materials in the online learning environment and supports students’ self-directed learning.

Alina also oversees students’ learning and engagement with the course and helps them develop the necessary skills for academic success. She provides the relevant IT guidance to enable them to study and learn online and works to create an engaging and inclusive online learning community. She motivates and encourages the students as they navigate post-graduate level studies online.

Alina has international experience in primary teaching and has previously taught on the Primary Education Accelerated Degree (2 years) at the Carnegie School of Educational. She has recently successfully established an informative podcast series for the students on the DL PGCE that covers a wide range of topics for students’ learning and professional development.

Research Interests

Alina’s research interests are in the area of the development of the e-learning environments and their role in student wellbeing as they negotiate their role, place and voice in the virtual learning space. She is also interested in the networked learning and its potential to inform and enhance ones professional and academic development.
