Senior Lecturer

Tanbeen spent 11 years working as a Finance Manager in Grameenphone Ltd., Bangladesh (A sister concern of Telenor, Norway) before becoming an academic in 2012. She joined Leeds Beckett University where she taught in the Economics & International Business, Accounting & Finance and the Leadership, Governance & People Management subject groups as a Part Time Lecturer. Tanbeen joined as a Full Time Academic in 2017.

Tanbeen has taught both in the UK and Internationally and has been nominated for her support to students as an Academic Advisor and in the Teaching Excellence category in the Golden Robes Awards (Student led awards). She is a Fellow of the Advance HE (previously Higher Education Academy) and a Member of the British Association of Management.

Tanbeen completed her Bachelors (Hons.) and Master’s from the University of Dhaka in the area of Finance and Banking. She then subsequently did her MBA specialising in Human Resource Management. Currently she is undertaking her PhD in the area of Corporate Governance.

Tanbeen has been involved in various administrative roles along with her teaching and research.

Current Teaching

Tanbeen teaches on a wide range of postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. She has led and taught in UG modules including: Global Management Practice, Applied Management Practice, Managing Organisations and People, Strategic HRM for Leaders, Accounting and Finance for HRM. In the PG Tanbeen had taught in the Management, People and Organisations module delivered to the MBA and MSc Programs and in the Designing, Delivering and Evaluating Learning and Development which is an online module.

Tanbeen is also a Pathway Lead for Business Management with Law and the Business Management with Leadership pathways. She has been successfully undertaking this role from 2020 and has been praised by her tutees in numerous occasions and nominated for Golden Robes awards (Student Led Awards).

Research Interests

Tanbeen is an active researcher and presented in the UFHRD and BAM conferences. Her research interest revolves around Corporate Governance, Leadership, and relevant areas of the People Management.

In addition to her research areas, Tanbeen has a wider experience in Course Design and Cross Discipline Mapping. She has been a part of different Course Development teams and was both Internal and External Panel Members in different Course Validation Events.
