Both our campuses and our halls of residences are well connected by public transport.

On this page you will find information about public transport routes for our City and Headingley Campuses. Whilst every effort is made to keep this page up-to-date, for the most recent timetables please see: 

Travelling by bus

Both our campuses have frequent bus services, including:

  • The Leeds CityBus Service 5 that links the bus and rail stations to our City Campus
  • The Leeds CityBus Service 22 runs between Beeston, City Centre, City Campus and Headingley Campus

First Leeds offer tickets for students. For more information on prices, routes and frequency of buses, please see the First Leeds website.

West Yorkshire has also introduced Mayor’s fares. Single journeys are capped at £2.50, £2 for the student single. The MCard DaySaver Bus is £6, and MCard tickets are valid across multiple bus services in West Yorkshire.

Free Student and staff shuttle bus.

This service operates Monday to Friday and will run during term time*.

Travelling by train

Getting to City Campus

The main City Campus buildings are between a 2 minute and 14 minute walk from Leeds Train Station.

Getting to Headingley Campus

Headingley Campus is a 15 minute walk from Headingley Train Station. Headingley Carnegie Pavilion and Stand are an 8 minute walk from Burley Park Train Station and a 12 minute walk from Headingley Train Station.

If you are likely to use different bus companies or travel by bus and train in West Yorkshire, find out what travel passes are available.

If you are only likely to use First buses, you can get discounted monthly or term tickets.

Students get a 1/3 discount on rail fares across the UK with a 16-25 railcard. Rail fares may be cheaper if you book in advance and directly through the operator's own website. Train fares and services can be found on the National Rail website.
