I have recently completed my placement at Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, where for one day a week for a whole semester I worked as a paralegal.

My tasks included: legal research, writing letters, taking notes during client meetings and telephone calls, attending court with solicitors and barristers, reviewing files, assisting with trial bundles and reviewing expert reports for contentious matters.

My placement helped me to realise the importance of completing a legal work placement during a law degree.  I feel I have developed as a person because of the skills and knowledge gained through the different and stimulating tasks I was allocated. The variety of work I was involved with really helped me to develop my employability skills in Communication, Organisation, Teamwork and Commercial Awareness; I had a great time too!
