Jonny Stokeld

Research Assistant

Jonny has a background in community energy advice and supporting households with home retrofit. He also has many years of experience in net zero consultancy and energy modelling.

Jonny joined Leeds Sustainability Institute in 2024, before which he worked as an energy advisor at York Community Energy (YCE), a Community Benefit Society supporting York's households with home heating and decarbonisation. He continues to be involved at YCE as a volunteer director and working part time as an energy assessor. Jonny is a trained Domestic Energy Assessor and has completed the AECB CarbonLite Retrofit training. He has a MSci in Physics from the University of Cambridge and six years' experience at net zero consultancy Element Energy (now part of ERM).

Research Interests

Jonny's research interests cover building performance testing and comparison with modelled performance. He is also interested in household behaviour and good practice for retrofit in a variety of contexts.
