Software Development Team Leader

Nurudeen is a software development team leader at Construction Informatics and Digital Enterprise Laboratory (CIDEL) within the school of Built Environment, Engineering and Computing. He holds a bachelor degree in Mechatronic Engineering with over 10 years hands-on experience in software development.

Before joining Leeds Beckett University, Nurudeen successfully delivered several innovative enterprise software solutions across various industries.

Nurudeen is an accomplished software developer focusing on creating scalable, user-friendly software solutions. He is actively involved in industrial research, collaborating with researchers and industrial partners to develop AI-enabled digital solutions that address business challenges in the construction industry.

Nurudeen also serves as a mentor on code.org, a non-profit organisation that aims to promote computer science education and increase access to coding education for students of all ages.

Nurudeen has recently completed the award-winning FireBIM Project, an innovative machine learning-enabled performance diagnostic BIM system for building design and construction compliance checks sponsored by Innovate UK. He is currently leading the development of another Innovate UK project titled: Digital BIM Information Manager (eBIM): A Decision Support System for Whole Life Management of BIM-based Construction Projects. 

Research Interests

Nurudeen's current research focuses on the use of BIM, AI, machine learning, large language model and software development on the  digitalisation  of construction industry. His research interest includes:
