A Strike of Success: Staff Triumph at the Brownlee Foundation Bowling Event!

The Big Event

Excitement and a hint of nervousness filled the air as our team, comprised of our Sports & Active Lifestyles staff, geared up for the bowling challenge. Most of us hadn't bowled in years, but the prospect of claiming the coveted trophy fuelled our determination.

Upon arrival, the event's scale surprised us as it took over the entire venue with teams from various organisations. After a round of networking, the games kicked off, and despite a shaky start, our rusty bowling skills soon found their rhythm.

Alistair and Jonny added a touch of Yorkshire banter and encouragement as they visited our lane, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. After two intense games, we eagerly awaited the results, conducting a sweep of the competition.

Champions!

To our disbelief and joy, we emerged victorious! The trophy presentation by our esteemed British Olympic medallists was a great moment, captured in a cherished team photo with the raffle adding to the excitement, in which one of our team members also won a new Coros sports watch.

Despite the competition, the event provided ample opportunities to network with individuals from different organisations.

The Brownlee Foundation Bowling Event was not just a competition but a celebration of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and the shared passion for activity, helping raise funds to get more children active and into triathlon. Our victory was a testament to the spirit of the evening and we'll be heading back next year looking to retain our Brownlee Foundation Bowling Champions title!
