What are the most impactful experiences you’ve had as a Leeds Beckett student?
One of the most impactful experiences at Leeds Beckett University has been the strong sense of community among students. Working as a Global Ambassador allowed me to connect with friends from around the world while proudly representing my home country, Malaysia. It was a rewarding experience to guide and support juniors and international students as they transitioned into university life.
Additionally, collaborative work placements and volunteering projects provided invaluable hands-on experience, bridging the gap between study and career. Engaging with the local community and working alongside diverse colleagues has strengthened my adaptability, enhanced my personal growth, and equipped me with essential life skills. These experiences have not only made my time at Leeds Beckett truly memorable but have also prepared me for my future career.
How has your course prepared you for your future career?
My Master of Architecture course at Leeds Beckett has provided a solid foundation for my future career through practical industry insights, engaging lectures, and academic tutorials. The hands-on projects, interdisciplinary workshops, site visits, and expert guidance have strengthened both my industry connections and design expertise. The course has enhanced my critical thinking in design and environmental strategies, preparing me to adapt to the evolving demands of professional practice. Well-structured and comprehensive, it goes beyond academics through networking events, external career workshops, and collaborative competitions, all of which have boosted my confidence and career readiness. In addition to technical knowledge, my course has nurtured creativity, adaptability, and a proactive mindset—key qualities for long-term success in architecture.
