Juliet Harrison

Juliet Harrison is Research Impact and Policy Engagement Manager at Leeds Beckett University.

Juliet is responsible for leading and managing institutional support, to maximise research and knowledge exchange impact and public engagement across Leeds Beckett University.

The role involves developing, evaluating and implementing changes to the University’s strategies, policies and procedures, aligned with internal and external frameworks; initiating, managing and delivering guidance and training to academic staff on how to understand, assess and collect evidence of the external impact of their research, and identifying possibilities for non-academic dissemination, engagement, and impact, at all stages of the research process.

Her previous experience is within the Academic Publishing space, where she worked as Head of Content Acquisition at F1000 Research, managing a commissioning team who were responsible for driving growth across the F1000Research journal platforms through the commissioning of both thematic and partner interdisciplinary subject collections.

Prior to working at F1000, Juliet headed up the Business and Management Publishing team at Emerald Publishing, where she was responsible for growing the business and management publishing programme, and the development and rollout of an Impact Literacy training resource, which was designed to support researchers with demonstrating the real-world impact of their work.

Juliet is also a trainer for the ALPSP ‘How Journals Work’ training course.
