Reports released
Dan Kilvington released the report, ‘Equality’s Everyone’s Job’, which explores the lived experiences of British South Asians within leadership, management and governance positions in English professional football. The project, which was externally funded by Leisure Studies Association, was co-authored with Dr Thomas Fletcher (LBU) and Dr Stefan Lawrence (Newman University). The report presents the lived experiences of British South Asians in football and highlights several recommendations for reform within the so-called ‘beautiful game’. The report can be read here.
Book contract news
Andrew McTominey has recently signed a book contract with the Royal Historical Society’s ‘New Perspectives Series’ for his first monograph, entitled Waterworks, Environment and Identity in Modern England and Wales, 1860-1970. Building on the research from his PhD thesis, completed at Leeds Beckett, Andrew is widening his case studies to look beyond Leeds and the Washburn Valley to see how waterworks impacted local environments and civic identity in cities like Liverpool and Birmingham. The book is due to be published in 2023.
Research papers

The online seminar drew a broad audience, who asked questions about Simon's pre-circulated paper for over an hour.
