I enjoyed doing a lot of things in Leeds, here are just a selection of my favourite things

Spending time in Hyde Park

Other than at home and the uni, one place you will always find me at is Hyde Park. Just sitting there for few hours is enough to completely refresh you. There are so many people there everyday, playing football, rollerblading, walking their pets. I love being there either sketching people or just sitting there amongst all of them. No hustle bustle, just a calm soothing environment to be in.

Playing pool at the Hive

Who says the Uni has to be only about studying? I love to be in the Hive. A place that always has so many people, it’s great fun being there. As an extrovert, I make it a point to make at least one new friend every time I am there. The staff, the people and the overall ambience make it a go to place. Give me a pool cue and a chilled bottle of bud, and I can be at the hive for hours.

Window shopping in the city

Let me be honest right at the onset...I am not someone who will shop unless I really need to buy something or unless I am accompanied by friends. But since I have shifted to Leeds, I have started to enjoy walking around malls and exploring all the different shops there and what they have to offer. Due to it’s close proximity, the City Centre is an ideal place. From clothing to comic book stores, I can spend hours just exploring and window shopping.

Sketching the people of the city

Being a student of Animation and Graphic Design, I love to sketch. Wherever I go, I always have a pen and a sketch pad on me. On the days I don’t have classes at the uni, I roam around the city, venturing to places I have yet to explore. And it is during such times I understand why Leeds is called a city of diversity. So many different people, so many different attires, different moods. it is a sketchers dream.

Lights, camera, action!

I have recently joined an acting class that I go to three times a week. It is about a two minute walk from the university. Away from the pressure of project submissions, it allows me to travel to, for an hour everyday, other worlds where I can be a pirate, a super hero or whatever I cannot be in my daily life.

The perfect way to unwind

I love the nightlife of Leeds. It’s when I would say that the city is most alive and at it’s best. You are spoiled for options in terms of the number of bars and pubs you can visit. A place I visit quite often is a place called the pixel bar. It is a bar come gaming zone. What better way to de-stress after a long tiring week than to game with friends while having a couple of pints. But more than drinking, what I like about bar hopping is that I meet so many different people who always have a smile on their face.

I hope this blog gives you an insight into the things I like to do in Leeds
