Why I chose to study a postgrad at Leeds Beckett
My name is Maitri and as a postgraduate international student, pursuing a Master's degree was a significant step in my education and career. I knew that I would want to study management, but I needed a course that offered good academic foundation and practical experience. After researching several universities, I chose the MSc Management program at Leeds Beckett University because of its balanced course, focus on employability, and outstanding international student services such as mine.
Why I have selected This Course and Leeds Beckett
The MSc Management course at Leeds Beckett was special because of its integrated approach to business education. The program features major areas like strategic management, marketing, and leadership, all of which are precisely what I am interested in doing in my professional life. What attracted me most was the emphasis of the program on experiential learning through actual case studies and industry experience. This blend of theory and practice was exactly what I required to prepare me for the business world.
Leeds Beckett also provided one-to-one attention in smaller class sizes, and that was a strong selling point for me. I was sure I would have a better chance for meaningful interaction with instructors and fellow students, which I desired in my educational process. Furthermore, Leeds is an active city with a solid business environment, and that presents great opportunity for internship and networking potential, which sealed for me the deal that I was in the right place.
What I Love About Leeds
Leeds is a cosmopolitan and multicultural city that has become home to me within no time. It's a lively student city with the perfect blend of modernity and vintage charm. The city has everything—cultural attractions, parks, and an active social scene. As an international student, I loved the diversity of the city, and it has been great to make friends from all over the world. Leeds also possesses a vibrant business environment, which has enabled me to access real exposure to industries and future employment opportunities.
How Student Support Services Helped Me
One of the best things about Leeds Beckett is the facilities for support. The International Student Support team helped me adjust to life in the UK with orientation, providing guidance on settling in, and familiarizing me with other international students. They made it a lot less difficult for me.
The Academic Support Services proved to be priceless as well. In having to switch to a different academic system, I found myself especially benefiting from the writing assistance services. They helped refine my academic writing and improve my critical thinking skills.
The Career Development Centre also assisted me with writing CVs, interviewing, and interacting with professionals from the industry, which has made me more confident in pursuing job opportunities after graduation.
