Why I chose to study in the UK

The UK was an easy decision when I started thinking about options to pursue my university education. It is widely known that the UK provides top-notch education, a diverse range of cultures, and a welcoming environment for international students. The UK educational system's unique blend of innovation and tradition gave me the opportunity to fully immerse myself in a framework that fosters creativity and critical thinking. Additionally, studying in the UK gave me the opportunity to network far and wide, experience different cultures, and improve personally. This multicultural setting pushed me to venture beyond my norm, which has improved my academic experience.

Leeds as a city

The city of Leeds also had a big influence on my decision. This vibrant, captivating city is well-known for its outstanding transport system, rich culture, and active student population. Compared to other large cities, Leeds offers a reasonable cost of living, student discounts, entertainment choices that makes it a great mix of social life and academics. Leeds has many museums, parks, hospitals, and theatres, the city offers countless chances to relax and explore. To top it off, international students are welcomed in the city, due to its warm atmosphere.

Why I Chose Leeds Beckett University

I chose LBU for several reasons. A key factor was it's reputation for academics, especially in my field of study. Personally, LBU was my choice because it offers modern facilities, competent faculty members, summer schools abroad, and a large alumni network. LBU has two campuses which are the City campus and Headingley campus, and they both capture the ideal mix of old architecture and modern facilities. I felt inspired and encouraged immediately since it promotes a positive learning atmosphere.

LBU is well known for providing an all-round education for students by combining opportunities for extracurricular activities with rigorous academics which has made me experienced hands-on, laboratory practical learning skills. LBU focuses on creating employable, accredited courses with its high employability rate for graduates, demonstrating that the university is committed to helping students succeed in the real-world.

Support and Guidance for International Students in LBU

I was drawn to LBU because it actively supports international students. Since LBU has dedicated support services, including career services, academic and visa advice, buddy sessions, and an effective international student support team with global student ambassadors, I have never had any difficulties as an international student. When it comes to accommodation and adapting to life in the UK, the international student office has been incredibly helpful. Also, being a global student ambassador, has also improved my experience by introducing me to other students from different backgrounds.

If you are considering studying abroad, particularly in the UK, I would advise you to begin your research immediately. Learn about the requirements for obtaining a visa, the application process, and the cost of studying and living abroad.
