Digital Marketing and Social Listening Workshop

Digital marketing, also called e-marketing or online marketing, is a form of marketing that uses digital channels as its main route for engaging with existing or potential customers (or clients) and other stakeholders. These channels include emails, SMS, social media, web-based advertising, and other digital platforms.

The digital arena has disrupted many sectors (examples include music, hotels, taxi services, and photography). Rapid technology developments often make it difficult for businesses to decide where to focus their efforts.

This intensive one-day workshop is designed for business professionals form small, medium or large businesses to provide them essential skills for understanding online marketing and market research tools. This course aims to provide businesses with techniques to strengthen their competitive advantage in the marketplace.

We will cover an overview of online marketing and help you develop a market research skillset called Social Listening.

What will I learn?

The workshop will help your team understand how to evaluate the macro, micro and internal environments and develop appropriate strategies and tactics to support the growth of your organisation. The programme will be appropriate for any sector and/or organisation.

The course is structured in two 3-hour sessions:

  1. Mapping the Digital Landscape, which has been designed to provide the students with the skills and tools needed to evaluate their activity and their competitor’s activities within the digital domain. It will allow the students to benchmark their organisation’s positions within the sector. The module also introduces participants to the various digital strategies that can be applied to help enhance their benchmark position.
  2. Understanding Social Listening, which has been designed to provide the students with the skills and tools needed to initiate market research activities and competitor intelligence gathering. Understanding the customer is a key factor in ensuring customer service is maximised. It will also help identify future opportunities or counter and ongoing concerns.

Course details

This workshop is aimed at business professionals interested to both learn or refresh their knowledge on digital marketing and those keen to learn new skills in innovative social listening techniques.

Fee per participant is £300.

The programme will be delivered face-to-face in a classroom, subject to university Covid-19 guidance, up to 20 participants.

The day will consist of two sessions:

  • Session 1: Mapping the Digital Landscape
  • Session 2: Social Listening

Each session will be 3 hours long with T&C breaks and a lunch break. It’s a full day’s learning course. In addition to face to face teaching there will be:

  • Supporting videos of the sessions
  • Supporting literature
  • Graded quizzes
  • Completion certificates
