DXA Body Composition Scan
A body composition scan takes 10 -20 minutes. The scan involves lying on your back on a firm couch while a scanning arm passes over your body taking an image of the area being scanned. As with x-rays, body composition scans use radiation. The level of radiation for a body composition scan is extremely low, about the same as what you are exposed to from a few days’ natural background radiation. For the scan you will need

Full Dietary Analysis Our full dietary analysis considers your full background information and includes a feedback and follow up consultation. In addition to identifying changes that can be made to your current diet, the follow up consultation checks that you are putting your new strategies into practice and achieving your goals.
Diet MOT This individualised consultation helps you identify changes that can be made to your current diet to help optimise your health and performance while supporting your weight management goals.
DXA Body Composition Scan Results from your body composition scan can be used to track changes in body mass and how much fat you are losing/gaining compared to your total muscle mass. It also provides readings of visceral fat (how much fat an individual carries around their organs), a good indicator for increased risk of chronic disease. Body composition scan results also give an indication of your bone mineral density, which is an indication of bone strength and fragility. This scan allows any issues to be flagged up for further investigation.
