This module provides a comparative exploration of global healthcare challenges, policy, systems and practice. Students will critically analyse key health challenges, healthcare systems, governance structures, and the intersection of policy with professional practice across diverse global contexts. Emphasis is placed on navigating the complexities of global health as professionals, including workforce dynamics, ethical decision-making, and collaborative leadership in multi-sectoral settings. The module highlights the impact of globalization on health equity, resource allocation, and professional roles, using real-world case studies and theoretical frameworks. The assessment involves a presentation that analyses a health policy issue and compares it at the global level.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this module students will be able to:
- Compare global health challenges and policy responses to these challenges through theoretical frameworks that focus upon equity, sustainability, and cross-national comparisons
- Articulate how research can influence regional and global policy and practice
- Explore the implications of global health policies on professional practice through how it impacts governance, and service delivery, with a focus on health equity, workforce, and cultural competency
- Critically discuss policy implementation in multi professional practice, considering global health complexities and ethical dilemmas
- Design and deliver a professional presentation that identifies and describes a health policy issue. Critically analyses and proposes evidence-based revisions or recommendations for a global health policy issue, comparing at least two countries. Explore implications and real-world applicability of policy (and recommendations)
