Animations & Interaction

The Leeds Beckett University website occasionally uses animations to page elements and animated gifs to add impact to pages. If you wish to stop them from playing for accessibility purposes or for personal preference then please see the guidance below. Please note that browsers sometimes change how they operate, so please refer to your browser help files to find their latest information.
How do I turn off animations?

Chrome

Chrome users will need to use browser extensions. Animation Policy from Google will help you set your own preferences.

Microsoft Edge

There is currently no way to disable animations within Microsoft Edge. Users of Edge (Chromium) browser can install the Chrome extensions above and use them.

Internet Explorer

To stop animations on a single page you can just press the 'Esc' key. This will stop the animation on that page. If you wish to restart the animations you need to refresh the page. To permanently disable the playing of animated GIF images, open Internet Options > Advanced tab. Under the Multimedia section, uncheck the Play animations in webpage check-box, click Apply and Exit and then restart your computer.

Firefox

Type about:config in Firefox address bar and hit Enter to open Settings. Search for the image.animation_mode flag and change its value from Normal to None. Once you restart Firefox this will disable animations.

Professional Portfolio Development within the context of Health & Community Care

Suitable for practitioners working with health and social care clients. The aim of the module is to enable you to consider your future study in the context of current health and social care policy, and your professional learning. It also provides a means of meeting the needs of students who require support in putting together a professional profile of evidence to gain accreditation for prior learning and /or advanced standing for previous study. It may also provide a useful means of evidencing your ability to study at a particular academic level and refresh your study skills if you have not undertaken academic work for some time.

Critical reflection on your experiences
Past learning and achievements
Discussion in detail on the relevance of the proposed scheme of study for both your personal and professional development drawing on the contemporary literature on professional development
Negotiation and articulation of individual learning outcomes
For your future scheme of study, critical exploration of current health and social care policy and implications for service users/patients

entry requirements

These modules are designed for practitioners working with health and social care clients. For admission to the module you will usually be required to provide evidence of the successful completion of 120 credits (or equivalent) at the appropriate level in a relevant area / discipline: 120 credits at level 5 (Dip HE) for level 6 (degree) study, 120 credits at level 6 (BScH/BAH) for level 7 (masters) study. Support from your line manager.

assessment

You will be assessed against level 6 or level 7 academic criteria on a portfolio of evidence to include: a reflective synopsis critically analysing your role in health and social care and your current learning needs, a report offering a critique of a current health policy, a personal development plan which outlines your future scheme of study and an extended Curriculum Vitae. For students submitting for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) purposes: a more comprehensive portfolio mapped against appropriate learning outcomes
