Wilf Maynell will talk about Studio Bark's journey in environmental practice, construction and education. How small organisation can be much bigger than the sum of its parts and how we all have a responsibility to promote positive change and work on progress.
Architecture and Design is all around us, in everything we do, think or say, we are influenced by our context. Do we stop often enough to consider the impact of every move we make and when we make the 'wrong' move, how do we learn?
Wilf will set out Studio Bark's new mission and their aim to influence change in the context of a polarised political backdrop and a depleted planet.
These events of talks, debates and demonstrations provide a rich platform of opportunities for students and staff, together with external audience, to engage with the expanding scope of critical research and creative practice traversing fields of Architecture, Landscape, Interior and Urban Design.
Wilf is a founding member of Studio Bark, Studio Bark Projects and the recently launched U-Build construction system. He is a passionate and diverse practitioner, who enjoys designing and making beautiful spaces. He believes that the very best of architectural manifestation is born from the combined understanding of people and nature.
Wilf's approach to design transcends into finished buildings; designed for the people within them and for the environment around them. He has an eye for detail and loves working with innovative, natural and locally sourced materials, culminating in his unique understanding of low energy construction techniques.
