I’m Charlie, a first class graduate from Leeds Beckett with a passion for entrepreneurship. As a kid I was always searching for opportunities to create and build whether it was small ventures or dreaming up big ideas in my spare time.
An internship in the UAE later fuelled this passion and winning both the Social Enterprise Award and the EUREKA award at Leeds Beckett’s Centre for Entrepreneurship and Knowledge exchange really shaped my journey. Those experiences taught me that business can be so much more than turning a profit.
Manchester is my home and seeing challenges faced by people here pushed me to think bigger, to launch projects that could genuinely improve lives like boosting local health, supporting the youth and tackling isolation amongst the elderly. Not everything went the way I’d hoped with my first facility not getting funding but the lessons learnt stuck with me.
Now I’m launching new ventures like Pulse Reformer Pilates Studio and StudentMeals, all driven by the same values I learnt through CEKE. I’ve realised that when you focus on the people who need it most you’re not just making a difference - you often find the business becomes even more successful along the way.
