European Workshop on Ecological Psychology (EWEP16)
Hosted by The Centre for Psychological Research (PsyCen),Leeds Beckett University, the 16th European Workshop on Ecological Psychology will brings together researchers working in the many disciplines being shaped by the ecological approach.

Taking place at the Doubletree by Hilton, Leeds City Centre, talks can cover perception-action, motor control, dynamical systems, ecological dynamics and skill acquisition, philosophy of perception, affordances, and more.

 

Abstract submissions for talks are now closed. Registration will open shortly; the first, early registration date will be until Friday 16 May 2025. If you have any queries include ‘EWEP16’ in your email subject line and contact:

The deadline for Abstract Submission is the Friday 14 March 2025 with confirmation of acceptance on Wednesday 3 April 2025. If a symposium is not accepted,  individual talks will be considered for open slots.

You can select from an 15 minute oral presentation or a poster presentation. We are also accepting symposium submissions, which requires a symposium abstract and an abstract from each contributor. Any queries please email Andrew Wilson.

 For an oral Presentation/  or poster, please submit an abstract (max 250 words), text only including a title, your name, affiliation, and email address.

Symposium: Please submit an abstract for the symposium (max 250 words), text only. Please include your name, affiliation, and email address, and the names of the invited contributors. Each contributor should then submit a separate abstract and note the symposium they are included in.

The registration costs will cover accommodation between the 15- 17 July and catering will include:

  •     Dinner on Wednesday 16 July

General travel information

Arriving by plane

Leeds is served directly by Leeds-Bradford Airport, with easy train connections from Manchester airport.

Arriving on public transport

The  Doubletree by the Hilton, Leeds City Centre is a 10 minute walk from Leeds train station.

Arriving by car

 Leeds has good motorway links from the M1, M62 and M621 making it easy for your to reach.

Parking

There are a number of city centre pay and display car parks located near to our campus buildings. These can get busy during events and we would advise that you use Leeds Travel Info to check available car parking spaces on the day and that you leave plenty of time to find a parking space and walk to the campus. Postcodes for the closest city centre car parks are as follows:

Please also note that park-and-ride facilities are available at Elland Road and Stourton. They are easily accessible from the motorway and will allow you to avoid driving into the city centre altogether. Please the Metro website for more information.

The Centre of Psychological Research (PsyCen), within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, supports research projects dedicated to improving psychological wellbeing for different communities in conjunction with a range of external collaborators and funders.

Our work showcases diverse methodologies, from psychometric and experimental designs to qualitative and critical psychology approaches, to advance knowledge across different branches of psychological science, from social and community psychology to cognitive neuroscience and biological psychology.  The PsyCen research group features 70 + Professors, Readers, Senior Lecturers, Senior Research Fellows, Post-Doctoral Research Fellows, Research Associates and Postgraduate Research Students.
