Marking our ambition and building on our excellence we will launch the Obesity Institute on World Obesity Day and invite you to hear about our vision and strategy, founded on coproduction and collaboration, to respond to the complex challenges of Obesity in an ever changing world.
The Obesity Institute is a new pan-university initiative, founded on the success of research and professional practice in applied obesity across the University and in MoreLife (a subsidiary company of the University). Under the leadership of Professors Louisa Ells, Paul Gately and Carlton Cooke, our vision for the Institute is to improve the lives of people living with or at risk of obesity, and their families and carers.
Hear from passionate researchers at the front line of cutting edge advancements in the management and study of obesity, and from our partners; Jason Halford – President of the European Association for the Study of Obesity and Ken Clare our Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Lead on what this exciting new initiative means for people living with or at risk of obesity.
There will be a dedicated panel to answer your questions, joining us will be Elizabeth Boniface – Health Improvement Principal - Healthy Living, Weight & Food (Leeds City Council) and Jamie Blackshaw National Lead – Physical Activity and Healthy Weight (Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, Department of Health and Social Care).
