Echochroma concerts feature electroacoustic music, noise and sound art works presented using cutting-edge 3D sound technologies.
This edition of Echochroma welcomes award-winning composer (Prix Russolo 2023, Internaltional Sonosfera Amnisonics Competition, 2023, Prix CIME 2023, European Students 3D audio competition 2022) Otto Iivari to Leeds School of Arts.
Iivari’s work focuses on acousmatic, spatial electroacoustic music, designed for multichannel settings and ambisonic systems. He explores the potential of organic sound, emphasizing space and sound movement in his compositions.
His latest research investigates the interconnectedness of expressive human movement and the perceived movement of sound.
Echochroma XXII also presents new compositions from LSA students, staff and guests.
About Otto Iivari
Otto Iivari, an electroacoustic composer and a PhD student from Ostrobothnia Finland, studying in the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. He composes music mainly for ambisonic and multichannel settings. Discovering new sounds, space and the perceived movement of sound are the key elements of his music.
