Leeds Beckett University - City Campus,
Woodhouse Lane,
LS1 3HE
The artistic group are resident in Leeds in August, working in collaboration with Leeds Beckett University, Leeds City Museum, Mill Hill Chapel, Harmony Choir, SOAP BOX LEEDS and LEEDS 2023. The UK leg of the project is curated by Teresa Brayshaw and Hannah Butterfield, academics working in the Leeds School of Arts at Leeds Beckett University.
The artists will be using cloth, yarn, voice, storytelling, and song to activate the Making a Stand space in Leeds City Square, creating a woven art piece using second-hand clothes donated by the people of Leeds.
At the end of each day, members of the public are invited to join the artists in 'Weaving Voices', finding and using their voices through songs and stories at 5pm.
Come and enjoy this engaging and durational intervention of the space, see it unfold through the days and join conversations, exchanges, and celebration.
