In this session, Dr Chris Möller will report on the qualitative findings from the discourse analysis of the panel discussions and show how speakers positioned themselves as experts and justified their ratings through a range of discursive devices and strategies. This invites further discussion about our understanding of group processes and the REF as a situated valuation practice which may reinforce existing inequalities.
The Centre of Psychological Research (PsyCen), within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, supports research projects dedicated to improving psychological wellbeing for different communities in conjunction with a range of external collaborators and funders.

Dr Chris Möller is a critical psychologist and Associate Lecturer at the Open University. He is also a Research Associate in the School of Social Work and Social Policy at the University of Strathclyde.
