Join us for a 2-hour workshop on defining and developing a Policy Engagement Strategy for your research, which will be led by Showrunner Communications, a specialist research impact and business to government (B2G) communications agency, and academics from Leeds Beckett’s Centre for Dementia Research.
The Centre for Dementia Research have been working with Showrunner Communications over the past 6 months to design and build a comprehensive policy engagement strategy for the centre, with a view to extending the reach and impact of their work. This has included:
- Horizon scanning to develop a clear picture of the live policy context
- Guidance on stakeholder mapping to help prioritise the policymakers to proactively engage with
- Support on how to effectively engage with the ‘policy circuit’ of think tanks, interest groups and other event organisers
- Designed for both academic and professional services staff, this workshop is intended to provide guidance and support on how to produce a policy engagement strategy, to improve and extend the impact of your work
Mark Fuller, is the Managing Director, of Showrunner Communications. Mark is a communications strategist with two decades of experience developing and delivering PR and public affairs programmes.
He’s held leadership positions in two think tanks, a multinational transport operator, a Private Equity backed higher education provider and a membership group of the UK’s most prestigious universities.
As a consultant he’s run programmes and advised c-suite leaders at dozens of private, public and third sector organisations. He’s also Chaired the Board of one of the UK’s fastest growing social enterprises.
An established thought leader, Mark has expertise in education and skills, social mobility, local government and public transport policy. He has been published by think tanks, written for trade and national press and appeared on national television and radio.
Leeds Beckett’s Centre for Dementia Research facilitates a cross-disciplinary research community. It supports the conduct of applied dementia research leading to improvements in the lives of people living with dementia, and those providing care and support to them. The centre has membership from across the university and a portfolio of internationally recognised dementia research across six themes:
- Dementia education and training
- Dementia assessment diagnosis and post-diagnostic support
- Dementia and social care
- Dementia and acute hospitals
- Dementia and comorbidity
- Brain health, community support and engagement
