Festivals are one of the strategies that are being used to this end. But how do festivals foster inclusivity? Dr Bernadette Quinn draws on empirical research carried out in small-medium sized festivals in Dublin to try to better understand the relationship between festivals and inclusion.
The School of Events, Tourism and Hospitality Management is pleased to host these open access seminars showcasing insightful and thought provoking research from renowned international scholars.

Dr Bernadette Quinn is a Human Geographer and Senior Lecturer in the School of Tourism & Hospitality Management, Technological University Dublin, Ireland. She has written extensively about arts festivals and cultural events.
Currently, Bernadette is the AHSS PI on an Irish Research Council funded project on Festivals, Audiences & the Digital Experience (FADE) (2021–2023). Over the period 2019-2022 she was the Irish PI on the Humanities in the European Research Area (HERA) funded research project on Festivals, Events and Inclusive Public Spaces (Festspace).
