Welcome and Keynote Speaker Gareth Hughes Mental Health in universities - a holistic, wicked problem needing interdisciplinary research Concern has been growing in recent years about the mental health of students and staff in UK universities. This has been exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Calls for whole university approaches to mental health have been driven by evidence that mental health is influenced by a range of factors, in our everyday lives and by the fact that a minority of those who need formal support seek it out. However, to truly develop holistic approaches to mental health, we must be able to think and problem solve from a range of directions. This keynote session will explore these themes and begin to suggest a possible future direction through true interdisciplinary approaches. |
