The Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami of March 2011 disrupted the social-ecological systems of marine resource-dependent communities in northeast Japan. The fishing communities and seafood manufacturers in the area have adopted tourism as a pillar for post-disaster recovery through linking various elements of different industries. The seminar discusses the interactions between resources and various users under multi-layer governance and the resilience of tourism social-ecological systems more generally.
The School of Events, Tourism and Hospitality Management is pleased to host these open access seminars showcasing insightful and thought provoking research from renowned international scholars.
The seminars are of interest to academics, researchers and students. All are welcome.
