#WECAN Workshop: Business Planning for Success
#WECAN (Women Empowered through Coaching and Networking) project aims to enhance the resilience and growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by building the leadership skills, capabilities and opportunities of women in the Leeds City Region.

Gain a practical introduction to effective strategy and planning for small businesses.

Overview

Learn how to create the ground for your plan and identify your key goals for increasing productivity, resilience, and sustainability in your business.

Think about timelines for your planning as well as understanding some important things to take into account when thinking about change.

Session Objectives

This workshop is for people who have limited experience and knowledge of business planning and want to know more. We will cover:

  • Some basics of business planning including identifying potential business opportunities
  • Why are vision, mission, and purpose important?
  • How do you build a plan around people, profit and planet?
  • The practical parts of an effective Business Plan

This workshop is for anyone in a micro or small business who wants to begin to develop a business plan that will work.

Speaker

The session will be led by #WECAN Delivery Lead David Taylor.

For over twenty years David has been a professional coach with a portfolio of clients including owners and Managing Directors of SME’s as well as leaders working in larger organisations in the UK and beyond. He has a wide range of experience in leadership and organisational change with both large and small businesses in a variety of sectors. He is a skilled facilitator with experience as a line manager and as a learning development professional across public, private and third sectors. He is a Fellow of the RSA.

David has led events focused on creativity, learning, strategy & change, human resources and leadership development in the UK, China, Africa, the Emirates and in Eastern Europe. He also facilitates Open Space, World Cafe and Action Learning events as well as running his ‘Four Seasons’ programme that uses story and wild land to support people to find their inner compass. He is co-author of Alchemy in a Shoebox and has also written an illustrated book of his own poems Occupying My Ground.
