Future Ready

Future Ready is an exciting package of activity for schools and colleges local to Leeds Beckett University.

As an anchor institution for the region, Leeds Beckett is committed to working closely with education providers to help learners of all ages develop their academic, employability, social, and sporting skills. Schools and colleges play an essential role in this journey—not only through the many students who choose Leeds Beckett for their undergraduate studies, but also as valued partners the university is proud to support, wherever their learners’ futures may lead.

This programme has been shaped through meaningful conversations with colleagues across Key Stage 5 and Level 3 education. Its aim is simple: to provide learners with opportunities that inspire, raise aspirations, and bring the university experience closer to home, whilst supporting partner schools and colleges meet their requirements within the Gatsby Benchmarks.

Future Ready activity consists of four strands:

  • Academic and Curriculum Enhancement – providing access to the university’s teaching expertise and state-of-the-art facilities
  • Careers and Skills – delivering tailored sessions created in partnership with employers to enhance students’ employability skills and prepare for the labour market
  • Sport and Extra-curricular  providing opportunities for all learners through sport and social activities
  • Outreach – fun and interactive workshops to support learners and their families through the UCAS process

By using the simple search function, staff in schools and colleges can access a menu of activity covering the breadth of the Leeds Beckett University experience, based upon their own subject related need.

All on-campus activity can include a campus tour and complimentary lunch for staff and students if required.
