Dee Caffari MBE is a British sailor who became the first women to sail single-handedly and non-stop around the world the wrong way, navigating westward against the prevailing winds and currents, in 2006. In 2009, by completing the Vendée Globe, she set a record as the first woman to sail solo, non-stop, around the world in both directions.Dee studied BA (Hons) Human Movement Studies and a PGCE in Physical Education, followed by 5 years as a PE teacher, before embarking on her sailing career.
Dee is deeply committed to supporting associated charities, including Toe in The Water, Sail 4, and Gosport & Fareham Inshore Rescue Service, also serving on the Operations Board of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
