Michael ‘Mick’ Hill is a former Great Britain javelin thrower. Mick represented Great Britain in four Olympic Games (1988, 1992, 1996, 2000) and competed in over 20 major international championships between 1983 and 2002. His career highlights include a bronze medal at the 1993 World Championships, where he achieved his personal best of 86.94m, and a silver at the 1998 European Championships. Mick won the British AAA Championships seven times, the UK Athletics title five times, and won four Commonwealth Games medals, three silver and one bronze, across four consecutive Games from 1986 to 1998. Beyond his competitive achievements, Mick continued to make a significant impact on athletics, notably coaching Olympic heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill, and through his position as Sport Performance and Coaching Manager at Leeds Beckett University.
