Rebecca Foster MBE is a Principal Lecturer in Adapted PE and a Senior Fellow of the HEA. She has been a key player in the development of sporting opportunities for disabled people and women.
Her interest in disability sport, specifically deaf sport, arose from competing as an international heptathlete and upon retiring she learnt British Sign Language. She has been a volunteer with UK Deaf Sport (athletics) for over 12 years, which has led her to three consecutive Deaflympics as both their athletics coach and Team Manager.
She is now a board member of UK Deaf Sport and has also raised money for the ‘Smile for Joel’ charity.
