London Stock Exchange Group Academy and Leeds Business School launch financial short courses
The series will launch on Tuesday 4 April at the Rose Bowl on the University’s City Campus, with a free breakfast and networking event from 8am-9am. This will be followed by a guest lecture from Chris Sier, Managing Director of FiNexus, on ‘Fintech in the North’.
The masterclasses begin with ‘An Introduction to Corporate Finance’ on 16 May which will analyse the set of circumstances that a company or an investor may face as a result of changes in the business environment. The ability to adapt to new situations will be discussed as they form an implicit part of corporate finance.
‘Investor Relations – the fundamentals’ on 13 June looks to equip those involved with the communication of a company’s operations, performance and growth prospects with knowledge, techniques and fundamental tools to start to manage IR effectively for their organisation. This session is particularly suited to senior executives, communications, PR managers as well as financial analysts, strategists and marketers.
On 14 September ‘Business Valuations’ is a practical one-way workshop giving delegates a thorough grounding in all of the basic techniques needed to value a business.
The series will conclude with ‘An Introduction to Equity Markets’ on 19 October, delivered by experts from within the London Stock Exchange. It will use live market data, case studies and worked examples to provide an overview of how mature equity markets function and put into context a company’s role within these markets. This course is ideal for professionals from member firms and corporate advisers, as well as executives from AIM or listed companies.
Dr George Lodorfos, Dean of Leeds Business School, Leeds Beckett University, commented: “We are thrilled to build upon the masterclass programme of 2016 and launch 2017’s portfolio of financial training in the north with London Stock Exchange Group Academy. This association with an iconic global brand will help us deliver comprehensive, competitive solutions that regional firms need.”
The course fee is £300 per course (not including VAT) inclusive of lunch and refreshments. Discounts are available for returning delegates and multiple bookings.
