Leeds Beckett graduate’s recruitment company praised for innovation
Corecom Consulting, and Managing Director Jonathan Sanderson, were nominated for their innovative Boss Event Series: an innovative and pioneering series of specialist networking events for employers, job seekers and graduates within the IT market.
Jonathan, who graduated from Leeds Beckett in 2006 with a BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies, explained: “We have welcomed the likes of Sky, Morrisons, Jet2, William Hill, the NHS and Yorkshire Building Society to the Boss Event Series. I am delighted about the nomination. The accolade is a reflection of the hard work that has been dedicated to growing the business and ensuring we stand out from the crowd. One of our values is to ‘evolve’ and we feel like we are starting to reap the fruits of our labour.”
Jonathan began his career working in a graduate role with IT recruitment company, SThree, which he found through the University’s Job Shop service before founding his own company, Corecom Consulting, in 2008.
Jonathan added: “We feel that Corecom has been nominated owing to innovation being key to our business strategy. We lead the way in innovative thinking and creative problem solving through: connecting with customers and employees to generate ideas for improving processes, products and services; training, developing and empowering employees to think innovatively from the top down; and developing a strategic, responsive business plan, which includes innovation as a key process across the business.
“My entrepreneurship studies at Leeds Beckett, along with my dissertation, were prominent in my mind when establishing and building Corecom Consulting, and I still work with many of the Entrepreneurs interviewed as part of my dissertation.
“Innovation is what drives all good businesses; it’s what makes a company or student stand out from the crowd. We focus on innovation for business growth and to gain a competitive advantage.”
Marilyn Davidson, Director at APSCo, the professional body representing the interests of recruitment organisations, said: “Corecom Consulting has been awarded Finalist status for conceiving and bringing one of the most pioneering initiatives to the recruitment market over the past 12 months.”
The Corecom team will now go through a rigorous interview process in front of a judging panel before the winner is announced at an Awards Ceremony in London, sponsored by RBS and CXC Global, on 22 September. They are one of three to be shortlisted in their category.
