Fraud and corruption on business lecture agenda
The event, which will take place from 6-7pm at the Rose Bowl building at City Campus on Tuesday 6 December, is part of a series of lectures hosted by Leeds Business School and sponsored by Yorkshire Bank.
Mr Clements, a forensic accountancy partner at Deloitte, has specialised in forensic accounting since 1996 and has a wealth of experience in fraud, investigation, determination and expert witness work.
Paul Houghton, of Leeds Business School, who organises the series, commented: “Deloitte is the brand under which tens of thousands of dedicated professionals in independent firms throughout the world collaborate to provide audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management, tax, and related services to select clients.
“Chris, who speaks as part of this lecture series annually, has experience in a wide range of fraud, corruption and dispute resolution matters across the UK, Europe and the globe. It is a great pleasure to welcome Chris back to Leeds Beckett. Forensic accounting is a fascinating, topical and important subject and the event will be of interest to regional businesses and members of the public as well as our staff and students.”
Mr Clements will talk about fraud within business and how, as a forensic accountant, his work involves him across a range of commercial activities. His presentation will draw on actual cases, what was involved and steps taken to flush out and resolve such occurrences.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is also a Member of the Expert Witness Institute, the Academy of Experts, and is an accredited mediator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
