Economic prospects to be revealed by Bank of England expert at Leeds Beckett University
Paul Mount, the Bank of England’s Deputy Agent for Yorkshire and Humber, will present the economic prospects for the region and the rest of the UK to local business leaders, professionals, and students at Leeds Business School on Tuesday 7 February.
National and global economic growth prospects and developments in the labour market are also expected to be key points of discussion at the event, which follows the Bank of England’s recent quarterly forecast.
The lecture has been an important date in the local business calendar for over 20 years, with Paul following in a long line of past and present BoE officials to speak at the university for the first time.
Members of the audience will also have the chance to pose their questions to Paul, as consumers and businesses look for ways to navigate a potentially turbulent year ahead.
Head of the Retail Institute at Leeds Beckett University, Olga Munroe, will be asking questions from those attending to Paul.
Speaking about the lecture, Olga said: “With the amount of uncertainty currently, it is so important for businesses to understand as much as they can about the current landscape.
“Our role as a university is not just to equip local businesses with a skilled workforce, but to provide the information and insights they need to make informed decisions about their future, particularly when dealing with the challenges posed over the past few years.
“This is an opportunity for those involved in local business to put their questions to a key figure from the organisation that dictates financial policy for our local and national economy.”
Book your tickets for the event, which is taking place both online and in-person at Lecture Theatre A, Rose Bowl Building at City Campus.
