Animations & Interaction

The Leeds Beckett University website occasionally uses animations to page elements and animated gifs to add impact to pages. If you wish to stop them from playing for accessibility purposes or for personal preference then please see the guidance below. Please note that browsers sometimes change how they operate, so please refer to your browser help files to find their latest information.
How do I turn off animations?

Chrome

Chrome users will need to use browser extensions. Animation Policy from Google will help you set your own preferences.

Microsoft Edge

There is currently no way to disable animations within Microsoft Edge. Users of Edge (Chromium) browser can install the Chrome extensions above and use them.

Internet Explorer

To stop animations on a single page you can just press the 'Esc' key. This will stop the animation on that page. If you wish to restart the animations you need to refresh the page. To permanently disable the playing of animated GIF images, open Internet Options > Advanced tab. Under the Multimedia section, uncheck the Play animations in webpage check-box, click Apply and Exit and then restart your computer.

Firefox

Type about:config in Firefox address bar and hit Enter to open Settings. Search for the image.animation_mode flag and change its value from Normal to None. Once you restart Firefox this will disable animations.

Leeds Beckett’s Leadership Centre launches West Yorkshire Boost: Next-gen programme to drive SME growth

The Leadership Centre at Leeds Beckett University, in partnership with West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Exemplas, is proud to launch West Yorkshire Boost, a fully funded, high-impact leadership development programme designed to help SME leaders deliver strategic, measurable change within their businesses.

Building on the success of a previous cohort-based programme, Yorkshire Boost represents the next iteration of a proven leadership model, one that empowers leaders not just to learn, but to lead meaningful transformation in real time.

Participants will join the programme with a specific change project targeting one of three critical business outcomes:

Improved productivity
Increased efficiency
Enhanced profitability

Over three intensive months, they will be supported by leadership experts and academic practitioners from Leeds Beckett to design, implement, and execute their strategic project, applying leadership development directly to their business reality.

Dr Julia Morgan, Head of The Leadership Centre at Leeds Beckett University, commented: "This is the next evolution of a very successful programme that delivered clear, measurable value to local SME leaders. West Yorkshire Boost is all about leadership in action. By combining academic rigour with hands-on business application, we're seeing leaders transform both their confidence and their companies, not years from now, but as the programme unfolds."

The programme's action learning methodology is underpinned by peer collaboration, with fellow SME leaders acting as critical friends, challenging assumptions, exchanging insights, and supporting each other's growth. This creates a powerful knowledge-sharing environment where leaders not only grow their own capabilities but contribute to the wider success of their cohort.
