BUCS Big Wednesday beckons for Leeds Beckett Rugby League
History looms for @LeedsBeckettRL
Leeds Beckett will face fierce rivals Northumbria in the BUCS Championship Cup Final as they aim to reclaim their crown for the 12th time in the last 13 years.
Rugby League will be the only team to represent Leeds Beckett at this year’s BUCS Big Wednesday competition.
Beckett were undisputed champions from 2005 all the way through to 2016, creating a 12 year dynasty of winning trophies, and the club will be looking to reclaim their trophy at BUCS Big Wednesday at the University of Nottingham this Wednesday, kick-off 2:30pm.
The team are arguably looking stronger than ever this year and will be eager for redemption in Nottingham after losing out in last year’s final – to this year's opponents Northumbria.
Beckett have fired on all cylinders on their way to the final and will be looking for one more big performance this week.
The opposition – @Northumbria_RL
Although Beckett have yet to concede a try in knock-out football, they are aware of the tough test that faces them – with Northumbria already taking one trophy this year in the BUCS Rugby League 9’s competition – defeating Beckett in the final.
This will be the fourth time the teams have met at BUCS Big Wednesday with Beckett having won two of the three previous finals.
