Double celebration as mother and son head to Leeds Beckett
Pam Charles and her son Wes are celebrating after both securing a place to study at Leeds Beckett in September.
Pam is enrolled on an MSc Information Technology and will head to campus with her son, Wes, who will be starting BA (Hons) Sport and Social Sciences.
Pam is no stranger to Leeds Beckett having studied her undergraduate degree in Business Information here as a mature student in 2006.
She said: “Wes came to see the tutor about the course and was really impressed. I told him there was no pressure to come to Leeds Beckett with his mum! I’m chuffed though, I had a good experience here last time around and I’m sure it will be a good fit for him too.”
Wes, 18, previously played rugby league for Sheffield Eagles and is keen to get involved in sports at university.
A full time writer, Pam has published several novels and currently has a screenplay out to production companies as well.
Pam added: “I’m looking forward to it. Wes will be pleased as I’ll be able to buy him lunch and give him a lift home after nights out!”
