Family celebration for graduating couple

Louie graduated with a first class honours degree in BA (Hons) Business & Management while Emily graduated with a 2:1 in BA (Hons) Marketing & Advertising Management.

The couple met during their time studying at Beckett before Emily fell pregnant with baby Oscar midway through their studies.

The added responsibility for the couple didn’t stop them from continuing their studies, as the new parents continued to balance university life with the added responsibility of having a child.

Last week was a real celebration for the family, as Louie and Emily’s hard work paid off, with both graduating with distinction.

Throughout his time at university, Louie had been part of the Leeds Beckett RFC family but the birth of Oscar and extra responsibilities of being a parent saw Louie hang up his Beckett boots to focus on his family.

Beckett’s rugby development manager Kerry Wood held Louie in incredibly high regard during his time with the club and Kerry says he will always be part of the Beckett RFC family.

“Louie has always been a valued member of the club and will always be part of our family here at Beckett.

“It is amazing to see Louie and his girlfriend Emily be able to celebrate their graduations alongside their family and their baby Oscar.

“As a father myself, I know how hard Louie and Emily have worked to continue with their studies and how many sacrifices both of them have made for Oscar,

“It makes me immensely proud to see how well they’ve done in their studies and to see them graduate today with their family is special.”
