Important information for Sport & Active Lifestyles customers over the Summer

Throughout the summer months, there will be many changes to Sport & Active Lifestyles' programmes, including changes to access points in to our facility, facility closures and who will be affected.

Access to campus over Summer

Customers routes to Leeds Beckett's Headingley Campus will be disrupted over the Summer. Currently access through our Church Wood Avenue entrance from Otley Road is being diverted due to Northern Gas Works. Customers can still access our main entrance but diversions are currently in place towards Drummond Avenue.

Please see the map below for a clear indication of the temporary route will Northern Gas complete their works on Church Wood Avenue.

On arrival to campus at the top of Church Wood Avenue you will find specific signage as you enter our grounds (before the Security hut) directing Junior Camp Carnegie drop off points in the Pay & Display car park.

Please note you do not have to pay for parking if you are dropping your child off at our Carnegie Camps.

There will also be additional pedestrian signage from the car park to the turnstile entrance at the bottom of our swimming pool where the gates will be open during drop off and pick up times. Customers are advised to use the turnstiles entrance and avoid the main Sports Centre reception entrance due to major building and demolition works currently taking place directly opposite as part of Leeds Beckett University's renovation works.

Swimming pool closure

Please not that our swimming pool is currently closed for maintenance work over the Summer with significant upgrades being made. We are aiming towards the pool works being completed around early September - but a definitive confirmation date of when the pool will re-open will be available across our social media channels (Facebook & Twitter) as well as on our website homepage as soon as it becomes available.
